Differences between Dutch Blue, Seagreen, and Whiteface Lovebirds. Often times, even for experienced breeders it can be difficult to tell between these blue mutations. This combined with dark factors and violet can make it an even bigger challenge. Dutch blue: A creamy colored bib which may have a peachy cast at the edges, melon colored brow, and an aqua colored body(no dark factors). (A dutch blue bird needs 2 blue genes) Seagreen: A white bib which may appear longer than normal, melon colored brow, greener aqua colored body, and belly color very much like "seafoam" Crayola crayon. (A seagreen bird has 1 dutch blue gene and 1 Whiteface gene) Whiteface: A white bib, optimally a perfectly white brow (although many will have a small amount of melon color, ranging from a tint to splotchy), more blue aqua color. (2 whiteface genes are needed to produce a whiteface bird)
