It all started a summer evening in 2006. A pair of cockatiels hatched out 1 single cockatiel baby, and a pair of Dilute Green Fischer's had only 1 baby, so no siblings either. The natural thing to do was of course to put them together for handfeeding!. They've now become inseparable. I had only just gotten my first pair of cockatiels in April, and then not soon after look what came along.
This is the Cinnamon Lutino Pearl Cockatiel baby. She's such a little sweetheart.
Here are the 2 babies together. The Dilute Green Fischer's baby was actually 2 weeks older than the other baby. Amazingly I had no other love bird babies hatch out at the same time, so to keep the baby company, I put a little gorilla beanie baby in there. The little fischer's would snuggle up to the gorilla and to this day, he'll still recognize the gorilla and fly to him. This is when the 2 babies just met, so the pair isn't as cozy.

Here are both the babies weaned and around 8-10 weeks old. Aren't they beautiful? The cockatiel is of course more independent, and she goes wherever she wants to and without fail the little Fischer's will fly and follow many times landing right on the cockatiel. She tolerates him of course since they're best buds.

Here is another shot of the 2 friends. It's been 3 months, and the they're still living together in the same cage, and they're both still really tame. I tried repairing the Cinnamon Lutino Pearl Cockatiel with another male cockatiel, but the fischer's wouldn't have any of that, so I just left them together. I will be showing my first cockatiel(this one) at a show this year. I will also be showing this Dilute Green Fischer's this year as well.
