For a long time, my most favorite combination were Whitefaced Violet Pieds. It wasn't until at a show on the East coast that I saw a whole group of beautiful green pied violets did I realize that I had not given this combination a chance.
Breeding Goals: Produce heavily pied symmetrical(all white or dark flights) pieds. Produce Green Pied Opalines.
This is a beautiful Green Pied that I'm currently handfeeding as of 2/24/07. It's heavily pied and very symmetrical. I'm trying to come up with a name for this baby.
Here's a picture of the same baby with its wings spread out. You can see how symmetrical the flights are the coloring of the body.
Here's another picture of the beautiful pied baby. Can't wait to show this bird when it reaches maturity.
Picture added 9/18/2006. This is one of my newest Heavily pied babies. It is a violet but the flashes sometimes makes the violet look blue. The baby is a Heavy Green Pied Violet. Very gorgeous and symmetrical! The tail on this bird is actually violet the flash doesn't always do violet justice.
The left baby ended up being a Whitefaced Medium Violet Pied, and the bird on the right a Medium Green Violet Pied. I just finished breeding the both of them this year, and they both produced some gorgeous birds. The Green Pied Violet male just finished throwing a 90+% heavily pied dark bird (2 dark factors). It also has all white flights, so I"m hoping that it will be a nice show bird in the future.

[Metamorphosis] Here is the Medium Green Pied Violet not long after weaning. How can you just not fall in love with those colors and the little red face?
Here is another picture of the pied siblings blue series on the left and green series on the right.
