American Cinnamon Longfeathered

The Longfeather is larger and stockier than the average Peachfaced Lovebird and possesses quite vibrant coloring.  Chicks in the nest of a Longfeather pair may vary in size.  Some might be large 'true' Longfeathers while some might be smaller, referred to as 'Intermediates'.

Compared to other Peachfaced Lovebirds, some of the first noticeable differences are that Longfeathers have more intense coloring, a wider upper mandible, are broader across the chest, and have larger feet and thick legs.

Longfeathered are difficult to work with. This bird is owned by Lisa Viteri, and her father was from one of my Green split American Cinnamon Longfeathed.

[Metamorphosis] This bird won it's first Best Unflighted award under Gary Morgan at the 2006 Bird Clubs of VA show and then again at the Wisconsin show under Lee Horton. The bird is currently for sale and owned by Lisa Viteri. Please contact her at lisav@alaska.com if interested.
